Srinagar: Eyewitnesses in Rambagh say 3 boys were ‘taken out of car, shot dead on street’

Srinagar: Minutes after police said that “three militants” were killed in a shootout in Srinagar, eyewitnesses have claimed that “three boys were taken out from a Santro car and shot dead on the street”.

I’m a viral video, eyewitnesses say that the three were “shot dead by the armed forces in front of us”.

Witnesses alleged that the trio was dragged down from a vehicle and shot dead.

Soon after the incident took place, the locals gathered near the spot and claimed the killed men were “innocent”. The crowd shouted slogans.

In the video viral on the internet, wailing women can also be seen saying that “they witnessed a group of policemen firing on them”.

One of the protesting women in the video said Kashmiris have no idea about the events unfolding around them. “We are helpless people,” she lamented.

Another woman said, “Have we raised our children to get killed in such encounters, how long do we [Kashmirs] have to face this?”

However, police on its official Twitter handle said that three “militants” were killed in a shoot-out in Srinagar.
