CUS refutes KU claim over tweaked admission norms

Srinagar Nov 22: Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) has refuted the statement issued by University of Kashmir where it has attributed its own relaxed” admission guidelines to delay in declaration of results by Cluster University.

In a statement issued here to Daily Spark News, spokesman of Cluster Univeristy Srinagar cited, date-sheets and result notifications of semester 6 to refute the claim. The result of the candidates of the regular batch-2021 and previous backlog batches of IG, Honors and Professional 6th semester was declared on 27th July 2024, the notification of which was issued on the same day and is still available on the Cluster University website.

Similarly, the result of the regular batch-2021 and previous backlog batches of UG 6th semester was declared on 23rd August 2024 and the related notification is also available on the official website.

Infact, the date sheets for UG and IG/Honors/Professional programmes were revised in view of the clash with the entrance examination dates issued by the University of Kashmir. Accordingly, the examination of IG, Honors and Professional programmes was held between 11th July 2024 and 25th July 2024 while the examination of UG programmes was held between 25th July 2024 and 16th August 2024. The results were declared within a record period of two and seven days respectively.

The factually incorrect statement in question was issued by of Kashmir University as a rebuttal to media reports about its own admission policy for the management programme, it reads.

The Kashmir university statement had claimed that it decided to exercise flexibility in the admission criteria and relaxed the guidelines after receiving representations from students of Cluster University Srinagar, whose results were allegedly delayed.

Dismissing this claim, the Cluster University Srinagar has asserted that it has always prioritized the interests of students and expedited declaration of results so that its students can apply for various PG programmes both within and outside the UT of J&K, statement reads.
